  2. Contact IDES: The Illinois Attorney General’s Identity Theft Hotline has several resources to help you, including trained advocates to guide you through the process: 1-866-999-5630; TTY: 1-877-844-5461.

  6. Place a fraud alert on your credit reports: 1) Equifax.com/personal/credit-report-services, 800-685-1111; 2) Experian.com/help, 888-397-3742; 3) TrensUnion.com/credit-help. 888-909-8872.
  7. Review all three of your credit reports.
  8. Report to Federal Trade Commission Identify Theft Report: 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357) or TTY 1-866-653-4261.
  9. Request your free credit reports via www.annualcreditreport.com and review them for any fraudulent activities.
