芝加哥风景之四:The
Morton Arboretum。位于芝加哥西郊的莫尔顿植物园是芝加哥的著名景点。深秋初冬,茶闲饭后同学们可以去看水树银花灯展(Illumination:
Tree Lights at The Morton Arboretum returns November 18, 2016
through January 2, 2017).我因为要接孩子,早走了,没拍到夜景。友情提示:芝加哥植物园的会员免费。
Located in the western suburbs of Chicago (4100 ILLINOIS
ROUTE 53, LISLE, IL 60532), the Morton Arboretum in 1922 was
established by Joy Morton in 1922. The Morton Arboretum is a
living museum, and the tree and plant collections that adorn the
landscape are nature’s works of art with a purpose. The
collections consist of more than 222,00 plants from 40 countries
and provide beauty, knowledge, and a healthier environment. The
Morton Arboretum has many educational and fun exhibits,
including the Children’s Garden and Vanishing Acts: Trees Under
Threat. In addition, many activities are available year-round,
such as bicycling, hiking, and running. In the winter, when
there is enough snow, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing are
also available.
The Arboretum is open 365 days year! The grounds are open from
7:00 to sunset daily. Maps and directions
