With Gmail, you can send message and talk to your friends. The Gmail chat also provides video feature.
To use the Gmail chat, please follow these steps:
1. Login Gmail account.
2. Click Chat in the left pane.
3. If you want, you can edit the chat Settings.

4. Clicking on a name in Quick Contacts will start a chat session or an email. Make sure that contact you plan on chatting with also has a Gmail account. The people you can chat with have colored balls next to their names—green means they're online, yellow means they're idle and red means they're busy.
5. When someone IMs you, a chat session will show up on the bottom right corner. You can chat with them right there, or pop-out the entire chat session to its own window.
6. Click on the "Options" button in the pop-up window if you don't want the chat saved in either email account. From this menu, click on "Go off the record."
7. Click on the "Pop-out" button if you want the chat to take place in its own window.
8. Begin typing into the chat box and hit enter. You are now using Gmail Chat.
9. Click video icon to start video call.
