What do you need: iPad or iPhone, Apple Digital AV Adapter ( see the picture and it may cost $40), Apple iPad/iPhone USB Data Sync & Charging Cable , a TV with HDMI port, and HDMI cable.
How to connect: Digital AV Adapter has 3 ports :one port connecting to the iPad/iPhone, one port connecting to the Apple iPad/iPhone USB Data Sync & Charging Cable, and another port connecting to HDMI cable that connecting to the TV.
How to use: on the TV, switch to HDMI connection and on the iPad/iPhone, start the movie, Internet access or any screen you want to show on the TV.
